Circle Equals Squid

This is a collaborative project with Monica Tuffs, Will Vincent, Matthew Stuart, Keara Harris and Donna Wearmouth. This conceptual book documents the major stages in a squid's life. Throughout the book a circle represents the squid and changes in size and colour dependant on the squids emotions.

Lightbulbs on a Sunday afternoon!

After some major costume improvements we did another photoshoot for the Questions brief. We have decided to focus on four answers for now, and intend to shoot others over Easter as and when we have time.

The first: 'I tend to get a sudden breakthrough of ideas.'

The second: 'I don't - they get me!'

The third: 'I get my idea anytime, anywhere - usually on a walk...'

The fourth: 'They find me!'

We need to do some re-shooting for some of them. Some pretty funny videos to follow (when I figure out how to rotate them!)

A day of screenprinting!

For some reason I decided to screenprint the whole of my Portobello Road book (in 3 colours and back-to-back) - all in a day - madness! 12 hours and a pair of aching arms later... one completely screenprinted book!

Lightbulbs test

I am collaborating on our new project with Amy Rodchester. The project is based around Questions and we decided to do ours on the question 'Where do you get your ideas from?' We'd found a quote from Alan Fletcher who answered 'I don't - they get me!' and so thought we could have a bit of fun with the images. Here are some quick mock-ups we did of how the images might look...

As well as some good 'uns of Charlie...

London Bound

We just went down to London for the week on a uni trip. Despite it raining alllll week, we had a good time. There were some really good speakers at the 4 Designers conference we went to, including Mike Dempsey and the design company Thoughtful. I also had some useful studio visits at Webb and Webb and Fraser Muggeridge, who both do some really nice work. Here are some photos from the trip.

We spent alot of time in Notting Hill and along Portobello market for a new project we're working on. I would like to own this many books and tea cups!
